This site serves as a resource for the documentation of graffiti and other arts of “defacement” in Chicagoland and is a tool for communication with others interested in this subject.  The project’s goal is to document instances of these transient and radical forms without the associations of gangs or territoriality. Hence the pieces of interest are not only someone’s tagged name or moniker, but ideally are free-standing art pieces.
