Whirlwind Tour

Covered a lot of ground today and found a lot of good stuff:

Checking out a new piece of Lucifer’s new stuff downtown I was pleasantly surprised to find an Andre sticker had also been placed in the area.  If you aren’t familiar you should definitely take a look at Shepard Fairey and his work.

This next piece has been found in several places across Chicago and has gained a little notoriety.

And finally I love how this piece from Wrigleyville incorporates the medium structure as part of its form.

First Post

This is the first post of scrall walls.  Basically, this is a site dedicated to an ongoing exhibition of “defacement” art in Chicagoland.  This is also a project of participation and I encourage you to both seek out these arts and share your own discoveries.  Please see the manifesto link for further information.

This first piece perfectly illustrates why this project is documenting street art–the piece is quite interesting, but hard to find and is degrading a great deal from contact with the elements.

"X" Can Help

Next are a pair from a men’s restroom stalls.  They are a sampling of the room’s wealth of captivating writings and sketches with themes of sexuality and voyeurism.  I will surely be back to view this restroom’s progression.
